The main aims and objectives of the interhouse are as follows
• Enhance the sense of pride in the school
• Development of the school culture and values
• Recognise participation and achievement in extracurricular activities
• Provide a varied cultural and sporting programme in school
• Encourage a healthy competitive environment
• Encourage multi level participation
• Develop leadership and pastoral at both key stag levels Develop unity and a
common interest between pupils and staff
The school follows a particular house system and there
are four houses in the school namely- Subhash, APJ Abdul Kalam, Tagore and
Teressa. Every student on admission is placed in one of the above mentioned
houses. Each house is headed by a House Captain who are guided by two senior
teachers who act as House Masters and Assistant Masters. All the houses run
under the guidance of the House Co-ordinator. One head boy and one head girl
are also elected by the house students who guide all the houses during
different activities. It is divided into two sections, the Junior Section
consists the students of class I to V and the Senior Section includes the
students of class VI to XII.
The Colour Red (Subhas
This colour is a warm and positive colour associated with
our most physical needs and our will to survive. It exudes a strong and
powerful masculine energy. Red is energizing. It excites the emotions and
motivates us to take action .It signifies a pioneering spirit and leadership
qualities, promoting ambition and determination. It is also strong-willed and
can give confidence to those who are shy or lacking in will power.
The Colour Yellow (
APJ Abdul Kalam house)
Being the lightest hue of the spectrum, the colour
psychology of yellow is uplifting and illuminating, offering hope, happiness,
cheerfulness and fun. In the meaning of colours, yellow inspires original
thought and inquisitiveness. Yellow is creative from a mental aspect, the
colour of new ideas, helping us to find new ways of doing things. It is the
practical thinker, not the dreamer.
The Colour Green (Tagore
Green is the colour of nature, fertility, life. Grass
green is the most restful colour. Green symbolizes self-respect and well being.
Green is the colour of balance. It also means learning, growth and harmony.
Green is a safe colour, if you don't know what colour to use anywhere use
green. Green contains the powerful energies of nature, growth, desire to expand
or increase. Balance and a sense of order are found in the colour green.
The Colour Blue (
Mother Teresa House)
The colour blue has positive affects on the mind and the
body. As the colour of the spirit, it invokes rest and can cause the body to
produce chemicals that are calming and exude feelings of tranquility. Blue
helps to slow human metabolism, is cooling in nature, and helps with balance
and self-expression. Blue is also an appetite suppressant.
